Hopefully you figure something out quick. You could always just grab a greyhound and bring it back. It would be just like paying half of shipping. Unless pops throws some gas money your way.

 

Well he is kinda afraid of me driving it all the way home through the mountians during winter.. I don't think it has sway bars front or rear to give it a little more issues on a long distance highway ride..
But Maybe if I threaten getting a greyhound to drive it up alone he will feel obligated to trailer it up half way and know I am serious

 

Ahh thats true! At least its worth a shot. The no sway bars could make it a long bad ride.

 

Well I had a talk with him on my way to work, and it does have both sway bars (eventhough I thought the guy said it didn't? but it was long ago and don't remember much about it now) and he said the front looks aftermarket and a little beefier, with adj. quick disconnects (never even knew but that one more nice thing about it hahaha) but the other issue he reminded me was, it does not have a plate or temp tag and to get one here, I need an out of state inspection where they can check the VIN and mileage, which I need the Jeep here for...
But he said they are little slow right now if it stays that way throughout the holidays and if I really want it and can pay for somethings, he will go through everything on the front end, and then put it on the alignment rack and try to drive it half way with one of their dealer plates!
I just hope he sticks with that

 

That would be awesome!! Hope everything works out, I know you have to be sick of not having it! I didnt even think about the plate situation and what not. But if he has dealer plates that will be cool!

Well the other things that I did not know about until my dad looked at it, were the headliner is kinda custom, but he wouldn't tell me how, just that looked half way decent (which is good if he says even that) also that the body and underside does not have a single spot of rust on it anywhere which will be great! Has a custom exhaust that he mentioned, but I guess its a dual that looks cool, and a almost new CD player with aux in but don't know brand or anything..
Also that the front bumper on it is actually an Olympic? brand bumper, and that the electric fan is wired into a switch so when wheeling it can stay on, I will just need to remember to flip it on when driving!

I want bumpers. Im probably gonna do a bastard pack too. I want the weather to break! Or find a large heated area to work. Which I do know a place, just depends on how long the jobs takes.

My old AALs my dad actually disassembled/reassembled the packs at his work.. But I did do the install of them on the Jeep in my garage myself, as well as later added shackles to make up for the slight sagging, the leafs took a little bit just because my brake lines were rusted, and I stripped then broke one end, so I replaced the rears with factory lines.. The shackles only took an hour or so if I remember correctly.
But be prepared to need some heat, lots of PB blaster, and im sure you'll still break some bolts..
I also got a 23k BTU? Kerosene heater, which is pretty nice for a smaller garage if need be.

 

Ill put some thought into it. I could always just throw some 2 inch shackles on for now right? Then buy new leaf packs later. How long for shackle install? Minus the possible troubles.

 

As long as the bolts aren't too rusty its not that bad, I'm pretty sure mine only took an hour in my garage, but it only a month or two after doing my lift so all the bolts were new and it was just disassembled and fresh in my mind.

 

I hope what ever way I go, I dont have to mess with the shocks or brake lines. But I have no idea how half ***** this guy did anything. I know he put **** in between the the leafs for some sorta half *** lift? IDK or maybe they come like that... I know nothing about the stock crap so its hard for me to tell.

 

Do you have a picture of them?
Full leaf packs are definetly the way to go especially if he effed up the ones on there with a homemade spacer between the leafs, but they are costly so be sure to shop around...
And if you want to lift 3"+? You need to do an extended rear brake line, or at least the 97-01s are that way.
