Glad to hear you got your Jeep back.

I'd be happy to pay the 160 tow fee and not have to pay the storage fee... i wouldnt want my taxes going up in anticipation i may need a city tow at some point.

i appriciate the offers on parts. i do need the following:

tilt steering column
a drivers side door (2door)
door lock cylinders, id be extatic to find a matched set (doors, ignition, hatch)
wheels and tires, I'll prob end up buying new tires unless i can find some great shape 32's
a factory jack and lug wrench would be nice, they took that
and for whatever reason they stole my rear wiper arm too

yes $160 is better than the inital fees they asked for, but i still think it's unconstitutional for the city to profit from this incident. a tow does not cost the city $160. even considering gas prices, hourly wages, and paperwork.

Shoot when my car was stolen as soon as it was found the police called me and gave me the option of coming and picking it up or having it towed. Of course even at 2 am I took option A....

I know how you feel man, I live in Englewood/Auburn-Gresham area and they stole mine right in front of my house. They kept her for a month, streets & sanitation towed her from her abandoned position only seven blocks away deeper into "the Hood"... I live in an area that it's just not smart to go looking for your lighter if ya drop it on the ground two blocks back. Police are worthless since it was a police impound lot the S&S towed it to, you'd think they run a license plate check or a sticker check and see in their system if it would pop up as stolen.....Alas, this IS chicago, and my neighborhood is known to be called Chi-raq. That's why I'm leavin this COUNTY. Peeled column, yep... things missing, of course... Next time I go fishin this summer I think I'll catch a couple of water moccasins and let them be my new alarm system.
I'm with ya on this, it's all a scam in this city...

Glad you got yours back,
they charged me almost 400 bucks to get mine out
