Anyone know anynother shops that do affordable om617 swaps? Simpons jeep family is in ohio but cost roughly 8,000-14,000

I just started working for a truck accessory company again, with an emphasis on 4x4, so I'm jumping in with both feet and building an XJ.

So my Father in law has spent his whole life in Meigs, Vinton, and Gallia. I showed him the picture, and he tells me, "that looks like the Salt river in Meigs." lol.
He tells me they used to drive their trucks into the river and wash them right there, with the river water.

We need to wheel together. I'll have my 33s mounted soon.

 

We all need to ride together. Back in the day this thread was busy! And we were all planning rides and get togethers

I have a VERY tight budget to get this project started. So I've been searching the CL for a great deal. I'll join you guys next summer.

 

I would love to go, any free time that I can get, however currently i work 60-70 hours a week, and then 20+hours at school. Then I try to find some Heep time in between my wife and son.

So basically, my build thread is such a slow work in progress, I'll wait until next year to post it all at once. Bumpers, winch, roof rack, tire carrier(?), lights, stinger, etc. should be good, starting next year.

But the 33's should be mounted soon so some fall/winter wheeling is in my future.

If you were interested, im sure there are many of us that have an open passenger seat. Many will probably even share in the work, and then you have "rain-checks" for when you get your Heep.

 

I'm in East columbus, pataskala area. I'm always up for a ride with enough notice. hit me up
