is that a pretty good upgrade? mines in need of a rebuilt pretty bad. so i just figured might as well just upgrade it. what does that come out of? and ok thanks the junkyard by my house has a older wagoneer. i know they came with 44s and or 60s. guess i should just go take a look at the axles.
Not sure about the hd on Wagoneers. Ive Senn narrow and wide Trac. Also seen a towing package. I would assume the hd would have thicker leaf packs. So maybe check that. To tell narrow from wide, narrow has shock mounts on spring plate. Wide on axle. Wide is 4.5" wider. Atlas is nice but expensive, ive seen a few guys flip a d300 and run that. What case are you using, I put a 231 in mine when I did my 4 x 4 swap and its relatively tough. No atlas but ok.

Atlas is about overkill for most rigs ive seen. Before I would do an atlas, I would do alot of other things. You could built killer axles with gears and lockers and not be to the price for an atlas yet. Or you could be the guy with the atlas and an open Dana 35 rear end. Lol. If your going with the waggy axles I would get the 300 case, tough as an ox and ive bought several for like 100-150. Then get the adaptor for your tranny. Look at advance adapters web site alot of good swap information and adaptors. I ordered there adaptor for my YJ, copied it in my cnc and sent it back! Lol. And if the waggy is full width your xj will be reallllllly wide. My YJ is full width waggy front f250 rear and in a parking spot it touches the lines on both sides almost.
