Anybody ever go out to $hit Creek? Good, free and legal wheeling out there. Close to St. Francis KY. The only rule...don't leave trash. Oh, and don't wheel during turkey or deer season.
How 'bout some more details on this place, donkeypunch? Never heard of it but I'm always up for good, free, and legal 'wheeling!

I'm thinking I might have the cracked 0331 I need to confirm and then decide rather to have a shop put a new engine in (expensive since labor so high) or just try to sell her as is.. and get a small gas thrifty car for work and home.
I just recently replaced a cracked cyl head on a friends 99xj. It's not too terribly difficult to do. If you decide to tackle it yourself I'd be glad to send you some friendly advice.

I guess only the locals know it as $hit creek. Didn't think about that lol!

Can't get my phone to post the coordinates but when i get to my computer ill draw a map of the trails and such and give clear directions and coordinates. If you want to look at google maps in the mean time search for Scott ridge road. Closest city is Raywick.
Follow scott ridge road south until u see Dryfork road (on right). On google maps you can see the radio tower on dryfork that you can park at if you happen to trailer your jeep or have friends with 4wheelers. The radio tower road is gravel, and leads u to the main trail head. (on left)

Ill post more details later. Got more derby drinkin to do!

Glad to see things are finally getting green, and the sun came out yesterday! Been awhile since we had sun on a weekend around my part of the state. I took this pic during a short run down to central Kentucky, somewhere in Taylor County. Off Hogard's Chapel Road, I think it was:

Hey Barlow, can you get us onto any of the tank ranges at Knox?

I wanted to give you guys a report on Mud Madness.

The owner/operator of this place is about as nice as they come. He must have thanked us 15 times for coming out and afterwords came up and talked to us about the trail system and even welcomed feedback to imporve the place (which I gave some)

By far the best place I've been to around the Louisville / Lexington Area. It's about 45 Mins from Louisville maybe an hour from Lexington. It's got a little bit of everything with plenty of creek beds to play in and some pretty good mud bogs if you like that. We rode about 5 hours and didn't even cover the perimiter.

The only negitive I found was that a few of the trails are a little tight so if you want to keep a perfect body just make sure you scout a little overall they were great and the owner is going to fix this week he said.
