I'm Roger and I just moved to Quincy, IL from Kansas. I'm only here for a couple of years for school but I bought my first Cherokee, a stock '85 with a 2.5, right before I moved and I'm diggin' it. I used to think my 95 Blazer would be the best I ever had but even after my short time with my lil Cherokee that Blazer couldn't ever compare to it! I'm a changed man now!

New member - Chicago area
I'll introduce myself here too.
I posted in the general intro forum as well.
I'm in the west suburbs of Chicago and am fortunate to have a 3 stall carriage house with a loft behind the home. Allows me to keep most of my rolling stock under shelter.
So far, the only wheeling I've done is out of state - at the Badlands and in North Carolina - all in the JK.
I own two Cherokees, a '99 and an '01. Just daily drivers so I've never posted here before - just lurked. But now I have questions on the '99 as I've cannibalized it to keep the '01 going. Since I can't post a For Sale I'll just ask advice here.
The '99 has no front clip, bumper or front axle - stole those parts for the '01. Given the situation here in the Mid West, do you guys think I'd do better to part it or try to sell it whole to someone who wants to build a crawler? The engine and drive train are in good shape. It was my daughter's daily driver until we decided to sacrifice it to keep the '01 on the street. The body has dents all over, the interior is very grungy but what's there is mechanically sound. Any advice?
Meanwhile, hope to meet any local Jeep guys.
John in the west burbs.

Hello from Indianapolis. I love the Jeep Cherokee. I recently bought a 2006 to replace my 1998 that developed a transmission problem. I held on to the '98 thinking that it would be a good off-road project vehicle, but have realized that it is not something that I am going to do in the near future, so I am now looking to find it a new home. I hope to find it a good owner here.

Hey, I live in Appleton. I have a 2001 XJ; which likes to go of roading. Have you been wheeling before or new to wheeling? We will have to get together & talk Jeeps. I am sure I can help you out with any questions or repairs you have.

I've been wheeling to some extent for many years on & off, but got a mostly trail only (but still street legal) vehicle several years ago.
I'm also into hot rods, muscle cars & anything with 4 wheels & good power.
Thanks for the offer of help & advice.... I might be needing that. (check engine light is on)It could also use a couple other minor things, but i'm learning more about Cherokee's every day.

I'm Will. In Appleton, Wisconsin area. New to jeeps and kinda new to off roading. Never did any serious off-roading. Got a 91 cherokee with a big rust problem and 200,000 miles. Runs great and I think if I keep her in the summer I'll give a 2 or 3 inch lift, because the rear suspension is wore in, and why not?
Thinking about getting one with less rust. Or fixing mine up.
