ok guys... story time.. so i went too wisconsin this last weekend too chill with my mom... on the way up i got too about the turn off for rosedale, in, not very far from terre haute at all, and i start hearin what i thought was a gergling noise from the new exhaust i put on... so i go a lil furthure and it starts gettin worse and the heep start bitin really hard too the driver side in turns, almost like it wanted too roll.. so i knew somthin wasnt right, so i go to turn off, and as i do, off goes my tire and it goes rollin down the road.. so i hauled it back up to the jeep, some guys helped me get it jacked up and went too take lugs off the other wheels too put on the one wheel too get too the next town, and none of my other lugs were tight. as in all i did was slap the lug wrench too loosin them. ne body ever had problums with the older modle stock lugs comin loose after a good amount of ridin and wheelin?? but ne way, thank god it didnt come off sooner, the xj woulda rolled for sure.just thought id share... but i did make it all the way up for a 6 hr trip up and then 6 hrs back with no problums and had an awsome trip too boot.

 

Them are aluminum wheels right? And if so they will loosen up over time esp with the weather change cuz aluminum will expand and contract with hot and cold temps and I know u didn't have all the lugs on it so that deff don't help

 

well good thing you are alright. That could have ended very bad.

 

wheels dont come loose by them selves. I have never heard or seen a properly tightened wheel loosen up, my guess is someone didnt get it tight when they were installed. what do the wheel studs look like are they rusty where they broke or is it a fresh break?

 

their not broke, literly the lugs came off, and all 5 ta boot.. and dave, the wheel that came off had all the lugs on it... so for 30 min i drove with 3 lugs on each after we got the wheel back on to get too a city too get lugs.. and im the same, iv been toyin on cars for a good while now, and never have i seen or heard of a good tightened wheel come loose. and being in the city, the possibilities, r endless... so idk.. but yea, thank god i pulled off...

 

do you think maybe someone was trying to steal ur wheels? You said in prior post that the other wheels were loose also. Its pretty crazy just glad no one got hurt..

 

yeah that could be, maybe someone was trying to take off with your wheels.

 

idk.. somebody else had said the same thing.. or people were tryin too kill me. haha. haters but yea.. thank god i didnt get hurt, or any one else ne way.. o... and the heep is for sale.. 3500 if ne one knows ne one who might b interested..
