Before going to a 5 or 5+ inch lift do your homework, and lots of it! I do not suggest doing it to a DD though. It's really hard on the driveline and tires. If you do it on a DD I suggest having lots of spare parts, hubs, drive shafts and more. Also do it where you have access to a torch, sawzall, large and small drills and bits, air tools and welders. I have almost everything here
Another reason to do your homework on large lifts is to get the best price, the best ride and most of all make certain you have everything on hand you could possibly need for the change as walking home during the swap can get old while waiting on parts you missed during ordering. I missed some things in the list myself..... longer brakelines for one! Speaking of brake line, it may be a good time to run all new lines and even consider changing the rear brakes to disc brakes. More money but the brakes will be better. If you have 3 or 4 people working on it the swap can be done in a couple days even with all the changes.
