If your jeep is clean I'd keep it personally. The ones here aren't going to be real pretty lol. So much rust on everything. Few hundred to have it trailed up here would seem to be worth it unless you just want a beater Jeep. What do you do that's sending you up here?
Haha why does it always seems like everyone else has the things we want? I did some snowmobiling in VA and it was a blast. Wouldn't mind having one if there's some good riding.

I'll be working at a food manufacturing plant called A.L Schutzman there in the Pewauke/Waukesha area. They do snack nut mixes, trail mix, have a candy line and a popcorn line. Really great products. There's a retail store near the plant you should check out if you're in the area.

So you're moving up here just for the hell of it or are you one of those fancy contract type people who get to travel the country? Or are you moving for a girl? Haha

Pewaukee,WI just seems like an odd place for an out of state person to move to lol.

Haha no, no, and no. I just graduated from college and the owner of ALS is a good friend that's allowing me to come up and learn the whole manufacturing and retail side of things. My major was agricultural business and economics so it's in line with my interests and what I want to do.

Lol yea I can't say I ever thought I'd be living and working in Wisconsin, but I'm definitely looking forward to experiencing something new and different before returning to the SE.

you're going to be in shock when you get here and finally experience Wisconsin's weather.

-15 on Monday. 35 and raining today. All of the snow is melting now too. Supposed to be almost 40 on Sunday. Hope you don't mind extreme weather changes lol.

Towards the end of winter it isnt uncommon to see it get warm enough for shorts and a motorcycle then a few days later a foot of snow comes down.

And tires. You want good ones. My old s10 had bald tires. Went into the ditch every other week. Got new tires. Only went into the ditch once that winter, and that was because I was going too fast, then some black ice.

My jeep thankfully has good tires. I haven't even thought of 4x4 yet. They have really aggressive tread for a stock sized tire.

Tires are very important, normally most people I know use "all-season" tires and throw weight in the trunk, they're normally fine.

Nooo, don't tell me all the snow is melting! That's one of the things I was looking forward to. Always wanted to go snow wheeling. Sounds like it'll be back to 30 degrees and snowing before ya know it though haha.

The weather changes sound like GA. I'm used to that.

Has anyone been down to northern Illinois wheeling? Supposedly some pretty good parks and trails in the area.

Yea, that's one thing I was going to do before coming up. I've got BFG all terrains on my truck now but they're getting low so I'm going to go ahead and replace them.

Any suggestions? Should I still with an AT or go to a more aggressive mud terrain?

Probably AT. You'll want a thinner tire for all this snow and mud terrians are terrible on ice.

Good to know. Thanks.

I'll stick with the ATs.

So here is what I've ordered so far

Springs
Shocks
Ujoints for axle shafts
upper and lower ball joints
Upgraded steering kit - drag link, tie rod, tie rod ends
Upper and lower control arm bushings

Can you think of anything I am missing to complete the front end?

Did you order just stock springs and shocks? Should've gone ahead and gotten some mild lift springs since they'd be nearly same price. Then you'd be half way to a lifted chero!

That sounds like everything unless you've got any leaks up front. Leaky pinion seal or axle seals?

Pinion seal leaks but I'm not messing with that. Ill take it to someone who knows what they're doing to fix it lol. Unless you know how!

I haven't ordered the springs yet..I jusf have them sitting in the cart lol. My rear leafs are toast so a lifted front with a sagging rear is going to look funny.

I figure when I redo the ujoints on the drive shaft ill get the seals redone. I'm fixing everything in blocks.. front, middle and rear. That way I only have to pull things apart once.
