I don't know should take a ride out to big falls or something? Could meet up somewhere in eau claire like next weekend if we can all get together. I have your number we should try and get jbarger and that one other guy from chippewa that's on here. I can't remember his name I sent him a private message tho. I met him at the hastings and birch street exit a couple days ago. He's got a pretty nice rig
Salutations fellow Cheeseheads! Been using CF for sometime now, as I bought my first XJ up in AlasKa at the beginning of this summer. Well, I have driven it across AK, Canada, WA, OR, CA, UT, CO, and those other states between there and WI, finally returning to the Dairyland. I am located just north of Milwaukee and would be stoked to meet some local XJers. Honestly, I read about the first three posts, then skipped to the last page to see what the most recent post was. Right now I am working with a bone stock XJ that, after this roadtrip, needs more regular maintenance than anything else (fluids, brakes, a few basic electrical, etc), but would be very interested and thankful to anyone who would be down to meet up, hang out, wheel, discuss the finer points of XJs and perhaps a fermented malt beverage could be involved.

I moved to Chicago from Milwaukesha but I still spend at least a dozen weekends a year in Wisconsin, and I keep Wisconsin plates on my vehicles, so I still consider myself a Wisconsin XJer. Although this is only my second post on 3 years, I read this forum at least once a month to satisfy my Jeep urges.
Recently sold my green 200k mile 96 to my brother when he was without a vehicle. He's done trans and joint work and put new wheels on it and I bet he'll get 20k-40k more out of it.
My 98 with 175k miles sat for a while after I moved and my buddy used it as a work truck. It's running rough and needs some work but I don't have the time/energy to do much with it. Posted it on craigslist for parts and projects and getting a bunch of students looking for a commuting car, which it is not. If you are looking for parts or a project, email me through craigslist and mention Cherokee Forum and I'll give you a discount: http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/3330810081.html
Just bought a shiny new 2000 with 105k, this time in black:

I work so much that I usually never get around to the mods I want to do, but I want to do a homebrew roof rack for camping etc. and get some mean wheels and tires on it.
I've seen a few cool XJs in Chicago, but much less frequently than in Wisconsin. Way too many BMWs down here. Also horrible drivers.

Just wanted to invite our northern neighbors out for a trail ride at the Cliff's Insane Terrain. Down and Dirty Offroad will be having our annual Turkey Run on Nov., 24th at the Cliff's. we have a few members in Wisconsin that our coming down for the event. Should be a good time and if we get any snow, should make for a interesting day.
Also, DDO has been looking to expand its North Chapter (Wisconsin Chapter) so if anyone has been looking for a family friendly group of people to offroad with and have a good time check out our website.

My wife is a die hard Jeeper, but she's got a Wrangler, not an XJ. I have the XJ.

There isn't much legal wheeling in WI. The closest place to you is in IL.
