Traveling through the area
So next week I will be flying into Oklahoma City, OK for a couple of days and then driving down to Granbury, TX for a couple of days on business. Looks like I will be flying to OKC on 9/23, driving to TX on 9/26, and then driving back to OKC to fly home on 9/29. So who's in the area and up for a steak and a beer one night?

NW Expressway and Portland. I might be up for some steak and a beer. I am going on a camping trip the 26th so any evening before that I could probably meet up. I live in Moore which is just SE of the Airport, infact I work at the FAA which is just west of the airport. What time are you coming in on the 23rd?

I am scheduled to land at 5:20 pm, so I will be out of the airport and in the rental car right around dinner time. If you have a good place in mind, let me know and I'll meet you there.

That is something I have wanted to do the last few times I went through OKC, but that was usually just driving through and on a time schedule. I will make time to see it Sat before I drive down to TX. I'm sure it will spark the same whirlwind of emotions that I experienced standing upon the U.S.S Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. A truly moving moment.

I work off of NW Expressway and Rockwell.. just west of Portland.
I don't know about going out to eat.. as I am on the poor side of things at the moment but if you wanted to meet up for a few mins I could probably swing that. Are you going to have computer access while you are here?

It is well worth the time, even if you are on a deadline. And I'd like to go back again sometime. I'd like to make it to NYC and the Pentagon someday.

Yes, it does. I've spent a lot of hours on the Arizona Memorial (Navy photog, Retired!), and its always the same. I've also been to the Nagaskai Ground Zero Museum and had a lot the same feelings. Never made it to Hiroshima.

I had the opportunity to go to NY 2 weeks before the attacks while workin outside Philly. Went to Niagara instead and I kick myself everytime I think about those beautiful towers that now I will never get to see.
The company I work for does a lot work in hospitals and our main customer has one in Tooele so maybe I will make it up there someday as well. I have been in SLC several times, but it was before I became a member of CF.

Let me know if you'll be in the area here, if you're in the XJ and have time we can find a trail or two nearby... Nothing difficult.
OH, Utah did away with the private clubs law, bars are open to everyone now... In Tooele, Tracks is a pretty neat place to grab a microbrew and some decent food.
