Check out Barnwell Mountain outside of Gilmer. Great park to wheel and pretty much the only place around here if you aren't into mud.

hey guys, Barnwell is about the only thing locally for crawling. Headed out there on Saturday morning 4/4. Meeting a few other rigs out there, a few are going to be there all weekend. Gonna PM you guys since this doesn't get area doesn't see a lot of traffic.

call or text Nine oh 3. 245.234 four 7. Will be doing moderate to advanced trails. Locker and minimum 33s if you want to roll the harder trails with us. Not sure yet if we'll have a novice trail leader or not.

It was a successful trip! Met another XJ, two built JKs and a crawler buggy. was having lots of fun until I realized my steering gear was about to tear off the "frame". so I cut the day short and put mine on the trailer. I'll check to see if the pics/vids are posted yet

Nice! I hope you caught your steering issue in time before any major damage. You have the brace on order yet?

We'll have to hook up out there soon, it has been too long since I was last out.

definitely! yea we need to meet up out there for a ride before it gets too hot.

yea I caught it fairly early. One guy in our crew was trying to convince to keep wheeling it and we could tow me out if it broke. Sounded good, but I didn't want to be "that guy" who broke his already broke **** and needed recovery.

Not sure what to order yet.... I found a JCR kit that was about 2 bills. doesn't seem like 2 hundy worth of steel. Ordered some ruffstuff stiffeners. still looking for a steering brace kit that I like. may just fab it and tie into stiffeners and bumper.

Barnwell is pretty good. Mud Creek in Jacksonville also has a decent amount of non mud trails. I went there last summer with ETXJC and was suprised it wasnt just mud.
