Heres the whole story. About two weeks ago my jeep wouldnt start. No crank no nothing. I replaced the starter and relay. I then try to start it only to have the key just spin in the cylinder. I replaced the broken ignition actuator and since it was cheap I also replaced the ignition switch and cylinder. Now she will crank all day but thats it. I noticed I didnt hear the fuel pump power up. I have no pressure to the fuel rail. I replaced the relay and that did no good. I checked to make sure I was getting power at the plug before I replaced the pump and thats the problem. No power to the pump. I was curious if the ASD was killing power to the fuel pump? My chilton says nothing about the ASD and gives no diagram for my fuse box. Hell it didn't even give the right diagram for installing the ignition. Im not sure if my ignition is even done correct. I did notice since I replaced the ignition system my door beeper doesn't beep. As you can tell im lost and frazzled. Any ideas?

Have you tried swapping your ASD relay with the fuel pump relay? Could be a faulty relay or tripped relay since you were having ignition cylinder problems. Also from looking around a little it seems a bad CPS can cause the ASD to trip thereby cutting off fuel to the engine. Have you disconnected the battery and reconnected it just to see if that clears any faults in the PCM?

I get off work around 4 pm, would be glad to stop by and look it over. I'm no pro

Was just thinking if your ASD relay is bad, swapping it for the fuel pump relay would just cause the fuel pump to not work either. Swap the ASD with another relay. Mine is a 97 as well and the door beeper doesn't work either.

I replaced the cps last summer. So I wouldnt think thats the issue although I could of got a crapy one. I completely replaced the ASD relay and the fuel pump relay. Battery was unplugged for a day or so and I checked it with my obd2 scanner...no error codes were found. If you wanna stop by thats cool but you dont gotta go out of your way. I get off work at 4:30.

Anyone here good at understanding diagnostic codes... had issues with my jeep not getting power to the fuel pump for two weeks now. If I bypass the fuel pump relay I get power to the pump. I replaced asd and fuel pump relays....and the cps. Now my obd2 scanner is reading 3 error codes. P1389...no asd relay output voltage at pcm. P1388...auto shutdown relay control circuit. And P1282...fuel pump relay control circuit. Ive replaced the relays....in English does this meen I have bad wires in both circuits or is my pcm fried and in need of replacing? Can someone translate what thoes codes meen?
