Cherokeekid another thing to check while your under there is your transmission mount. It connects the transmission to the crossmember via a rubber mount. When they start to go you will get a clunk when getting on or off the gas. Best bet is to pick up some new u-joints and have them on you while wheelin incase you need to change one.

While your spraying everything... don't forget to spray the body side rear shock mounts... and then still be prepared to snap them off.

I snapped mine. 3 out of 4. I cut a hole in the floor. Drilled them out and ground off that welded nut. Put bolts through the holes and welded that in place. I used anti seize when mounting the shocks. But worst case, I can split the nut if it's froze on.

Or use a air hammer to tap out the welded in nut from the underside, then drop a bolt in from the top with a lock nut on bottom.

I tried that trick first. Wasn't happening. This jeep has a way of making things a lot more difficult than they need to be

Over the years I've heard you want steel wheels while crawling and playing over aluminum wheels. I have been looking through the forum and see A LOT of people running aluminum wheels on there toy. Do you have a preference on one or the other or whats your thoughts?

My oem rims are steel and I was really considering them when I went with new tires but ended up going with aluminums. I have had no problems yet.

Aluminum is becoming real popular with wheelers as we get more and more concerned with weight. Heck, just look at everything http://www.savvyoffroad.com/ builds out of aluminum. Been running the stock aluminum Moabs on my Rubi pretty hard since '03 with no ill effects, besides corrosion and scraped clear coat.

Sweet my dad came home with a motor mount and an o2 sensor. Which is crazy he hasn't helped out with my jeep in a long time.
