Since my truck transmission went out it is my daily driver. I am just wanting to get it straightened out for now and be able to have fun with it ( get a little mud on it!), get a feel for off road a bit. In the spring when taxes come in, i will likely do a modest lift and tinker with it more as far as mods.
This thing needs serious attention. The front drive shaft is off from the previous owner. They said it had a bad vibration. Once I get it back on I can see what i am dealing with.I went down to pick and pull, but there were no XJs, but alot of Grands. one step at a time....

I have stock upper and lower control arms sitting in my garage taking up space. You can just have them. Mine are for a 98, so might double check to make sure they fit but they shouldn't be any different.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help! According to Autozone, the part numbers for control arms on a 91 and 98 are the same. Zimdogg, if you have a set, could I meet you some time Saturday to get them from you? I need to get out to pick and pull to see if I can find a couple of other things I need.

I want to and I appreciate the offer but Im hoping to tear into it this weekend. Its bugging me, been trying to baby it since I bought it since I dont know if its the original clutch or not. Its getting harder to shift and it started squeeling when stopped, but if I press the clutch in it goes away. And was almost lifted and ready to wheel.

When the previous owner disconnected the drive shaft, they weren't very careful about keeping track of the u-joint straps. one is missing and I was going to go see if one from a grand cherokee is the same as mine. then I can hook the shaft back up and see what it is doing, then I'll have an idea where to go next.

Yeah I can meet somewhere Saturday. I live up north. Do you need the uppers or lowers? As an fyi I had to cut the bolt on one of my lowers so that bushing will need to be replaced. Probably best to replace the bushings either way as that's probably part of the reason for your death wobble. These came off my jeep with 168k miles.
Also check ball joints, tie rod ends, track bar and all bushings related to those components to get rid of the wobble.

I need an upper and lower for the passenger side. it looks like someone hit something and bent them a bit. I'll PM you and we can set a time/place. Thanks again!
