Oil in coolant, coolant in oil, coolant in exhaust? Did it overheat? Ir would be nice if you just need to pull the cyl head, clean it up, drop a new gasket on with new head bolts and call it a day. Been there done that but not with a 4.0 before.

I've checked and there is no oil in the coolant, no coolant in the oil or exhaust. It did over heat yesterday after she had been running fine for 2 days. I noticed that there was no coolant flow at all which is what lead me to believe I have a blown head gasket. I would like for it to be something such as cleaning up the cyl head and new gasket new bolts, this is on a 5.2 V8 not a 4.0 though.

Thanks Zach I will give him a call here in the next few days, I'm going to try and see if I can't get her up and running on my own before I have to take her to a shop

not a problem. and if you don't have any coolant flow id start by flushing the cooling sytem or checking for a clog. or faulty waterpump. or thermostat thats stuck closed

No coolant flow definitely sounds like a waterpump. If your oil looks like chocolate milk you have a head gasket problem... if not, it's more than likely something else.

Pull your serpentine belt off and spin the water pump pulley by hand. If it feels rough in any way, or makes any noise, it's definitely toast. They're not expensive to replace either, MUCH cheaper than a new head gasket/motor.

Also squeeze the coolant tubes to see if they are hard, or if they're easy to squeeze. Your thermostat could be stuck closed too, although not as likely as a dead water pump.

I'll take a look at it tonight and see what I can find, I have had the water pump and thermostat both replaced but I know that doesnt mean anything. Start with the small cheaper stuff and work my way up to a new motor I guess...

How long ago? You might have a clogged radiator too.

What exactly happened to cause the overheat? Will it overheat just sitting at idle? Does it happen while driving? Both? How hot did the motor get? Does it creep up to being too hot, or does it get there really fast? All these different things will help narrow down the problem.
