Hey cvilleyfz450 nice buy! I bought my 98 XJ Sport for $3000 with 170xxx miles, so not too bad. Your front end is most likely the Dana 30 and you might want someone to help you to put a lift on. I took the budget lift to my XJ just 2" spacers in the front and 2" blocks in the back, but it made clearance for my 31x10.5x15 tires. It took about an hour to lift the front and back, but I had a buddy helping me.

It actually rides really smooth with the bigger tires. The 2" made the clearance for the tires unless I have the wheels turned all the way and I am going over a speed bump or something. I think total I paid for the front and back to be lifted was like $75

I just went to Flat Nasty yesterday and that place is pretty wicked. They had a good amount of well built trails. Some of there looked pretty tough and you would need a highly modified vehicle to complete but they also had easier trails for more slightly modified jeeps. I will definitely be going back there soon. It rained on us all day which made for some interesting runs
Hello everyone.
I am finally a Jeep owner!!!!
I bought a nice XJ up in Bloomington-Normal for $2400.
6.5" lift with new 33" BFG Mud T/A's
Stock 8.25" and D-30
Ugly wiring and a horribly cold nasty re-weld on a front axle tube.
I love backcountry adventures and wish I knew of more places a couple hours from home.
