So I've been looking for a new project lately since my 89 XJ is a crusty rusty mess. I've been looking for the 2-500 XJ with a bad motor that all my buddies seem to find. I haven't found it but I did find a well running 94 2dr with auto for a little more than I wanted to spend. The guy lost the title and is getting a new title mailed to him so I should be in possession of it late next week or early the week after it. I'll be swapping my stroker motor in, adding all the skids I've had for my 89 for years, swapping lift over, bumpers, adding a couple more inches to get me to 6.5", generous fender trimming, tj flares, welding the rear end, swapping 1t otk steering, along with a few other little projects.

I'll be selling off my 89's 5spd, transfer case, drive shafts, glass, doors, seats, etc along with the 94's motor, axles, and stock wheels/tires. This process should start in the next couple weeks if anybody needs XJ parts.

Hoping to get it done by Wheeling 4 Toys at KS Rocks the second weekend of Dec. I kinda doubt it will happen due to my schedule. Gotta get the haunted houses finished up this weekend, work at KS Rocks next weekend and then It's full tilt Project Bring out the Gimp.

Thanks but this is a budget build so at this point that will be out of the budget since I would jave to regear the rear.

Hey everyone....new to the 4x4 scene. I live In Lawrence...any fun places near by to go wheelin? Got a 97 cherokee over the summer and spent a little time fixing a few issues....and recently got new tires. Dying to do some lite offroading (its still all stock). To try it out...don't really know that I wanna go all the way to Manhattan yet just incase I have issues.

Tuttle creek is down by the manhattan area and it is a lot of fun. Some trails are easier than others and most stock jeeps can probably make it through quite a few trails easily

Ks Rocks is about as far as Tuttle. Good wheeling and a little better in my opinion. Trails are marked and not as likely to end up on a trail you don't want to be on.

Are there any places closer to Lawrence? My jeep has 178000 on it....it drives great in town but you get it over 65mph and when you slow down from highway speed....oil pressure drops to 10 pounds....it even hit 9 pounds once....in town it never drops below 18 pounds. Was just hoping I could do some offroading without hitting the highway.....or going too far since its got some miles on it.
