I did a little recon run this afternoon to Slaughterhouse Gulch, to see what condition the trail might be in...............
We ran part of it (the right fork) up to the top, before it goes down the ravine........
We turned back there after playing in the snow drift for a bit, cause the sun was setting. All 3 of us got stuck, and took turns pulling/winching each other out.................
I'm going to try and put together a run for Sunday morning to try and do the whole loop................
Last year there was a lot of people that got stuck at the bottom. They didnt have a winch or lockers.
I was concerned about wheeling slaughterhouse in the winter because of that. Also going the usual way on the trail (counter clock wise) concerns me as if others have been doing the trail it could get real icy (dicey) if you ask me! When I buy my next set of tires I am going with something that is stud-able. I am going to buy six and stud two for the winter. I figure that I can throw them on the front and chain up the rear for snowy trails.

I have run it both directions in the snow..........................I think it's easier running it (Counter-clockwise) due to the fact that when you are climbing up out of the ravine on the far end, you are climbing up a hill side that faces south.
It gets more sun, and usually has less snow on it.......
