Might be time to pull the cover inspect the electronics and get liberal with the dialectric grease. I've never heard of that happening before, I'd hate to smoke a winch due to something such as that.

ford 8.8 out of a ranger, I got to researching when I got home and it seems that there were to different sizes (where it mounts to flange) so I have to measure and see which one I have tomorrow, also I found something that said some rangers use 1310 joints isn't that what the xj is
