Tons of debates on this... but in a nut shell, A full exo cage has no cross bracing and is not nearly as stroing as an internal cage due to that. An Exo cage is like a bowling ball and will keep you rolling faster/longer when rolling down hills then an internal cage... An internal cage allows the body to smash and slow you down alowing you to roll slower and stop sooner (in most cases) However an Exo cage protects your body and allows you to "slide on it" even when not rolling over.Originally Posted by BlakeR13
What are you guys opinion on Exo vs internal cage as far as reliability
In comes the Hybrid cage.. has uprights and cross bracing inside like an internal cage, yet a halo outside to "slide on" and keep the roof mostly intact, while allowing the doors to colapse and slow you down.
I love my hybrid cage, I would never do it any other way. When your inside you cage see, touch, or notice the cage is on it. no bars to trip on getting in or out, no bars to hit your head on (head room is limited already in an XJ. Ask Jason he commented on how weird it was to not see it when your in it lol.
Just my thoughts.

here are some of mine (about 95% done) there are SO many ways to buidl a cage and different things people want/worry about being a "problem" its somthing your going to have to gooGle for hours and find one what you Really like or a few cages and incorporate it into yours. I copied a lot from this... a nice setup lol, But I did mine tottaly different inside. there is also only so much you can plan for, some things just end up being that way, and some things end up better then expected lol

Full exo cage

Internal cage

A wise man once told me.
"A comfortable cage is not a safe one, and a safe cage is not comfotable..."
then the Hybrid cage was invented

I guess that red one is a two door now? If you cut the whole top off you wont have to worry about it being an exo or interior or hybrid. Bam!!

not really, but yes lol climbing in and out easily and having tons of room kind of goes out the window with a full interior cage.Originally Posted by bigboystoysxj
