So I have a ? ... Can I take the np242 out of my 91 jeep and swap it into my 92 (it has the np231). And is there anything I need to be worried about if I do decide to swap them?

I did the hinge conversion too. The next day it snowed!! I was able to get the doors back on in the rain in about 15 mins. Once I ream out the plastic liners on the body side hinges it will be much easier. Made a cool mirror as well.

I know it's considerably more annoying on 96+. On my 92 you just cut off the bottom leg of the door side hinge and pound em out. On the passenger side you need to remove the pin from the cutoff leg and flip it and hammer it into the top leg. Took about 2.5 hours. My suggestion would be get a remote bit for a dremel tool. There is not a lot of room in there. There are plugs for all the wires in the kick pannels.

Does what matter? It means it will be more of a pain if that's what you're getting at
