Default Up there

With a few pics of roof racks recently I was curious how many have put a roof top tent on their XJ? Online prices seem to be around $1500 - $2500. Would think that one could do the roof rack for $200 in materials, $300-500 for the canopy and call it done. Might also consider military or HF trailer beefed up carrying supplies and the tent.

It all seems reasonable, Hinging on how solid your fabrication skills and your creativity. The military traiker might be too heavy depending on what kind. I'm interested in making a trailer for my rig and I'm leaning toward fabbing a tent and gear trailer too. It's a lot of work and will be expensive. Sometimes a good tent, and a good cot are a better bet. My advice is to spend ur money on making your rig better, not an offroad rv.

What should I do peoples? Well remember that 92 5speed I had well, the my cuz kinda screwed me over cause his uncle owns the jeep still. So I went to talk to him about it and told him that I need the title or come get the jeep will long story short, he offer to sell it for 100 bucks it not a horrable shape just needs some work. I know can get my money back in parts easy, but do I need another jeep sitting in my yard waiting to part out or should I just let it go?

Hey new Mexico, found a 99 steel blue xj at a no name dealership here in town. I didn't go check it out, but this is what I saw from the road, 99 steel blue xj, 4x4, looks like it might be a limited, and the owner is asking 2450 cash for it. I'd jump all over it for parts for mine, but I don't have the cash right now. Figured I'd let you all know as stock 99 are hard to come by, and the possibility of it being the limited. If I can work some major overtime, I may try to pick it up within the next few weeks.

You can part it out on CL if you want to take some space in the yard. When your done just call the scrap guys to pick it up.

Or, Fix it up then sell it.

Or, Forget about it.

BTW anyone see the Grand Cherokee on CL yesterday? Must be "super" tough http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/3709320386.html

Haha...seriously! My stock JK is probably a better "pebble crawler" then that thing! That guy is seriously delusional if he thinks he's going to get more than 5k for that thing.

So I decided that I'm goin to keep that other jeep now, should I just replace the motor or just part it out? I have a spare motor out of a 89 the bottom end is good I know I have to swap the head or even get a reman head, depends on overall condition of the other one. I still need a front header panel and little odds and ends. Either way I'm getting a better end of the deal parts or keep and beat or even swap everything into the 98 and just keep that. Its just my time and some money not much.
