It is actually the antenna that requires tuning. There are usually collars at the base of the antenna. You adjust them up or down, to get it tuned. I just had my buddy tell me when the signal was the strongest during me keying the mic. It works fine for trail duty, but I run a shorty antenna, (trees suck), so I don't have **** for distance. I can hear them, I just can't throw as far.
