After shaving my legs, I should be able to knock off another 20 mins off my ride. They are HAIRY!

Yeah, pulling a band aid off a injured hairy leg is no bueno. It's a little over 8 miles, but there is lot's of stopping from all the traffic crossing. I was doing 32 mins on my cross bike, today I did 29 mins. My new bike has a 39/53 so that's a challenge now. My cross was a 36/46.

BIg Ring all the way!!!

btw here is some encouragement, lance does Mt. Lemon in tucson in his big ring all the way up:

The 5,200-foot ascent of Mount Lemmon is a popular endurance test for cyclists. It’s steady and gradual -- the grade never exceeds 5 percent -- but it’s a 27-mile climb from the base to the top at Ski Valley. The climb crosses several ecological zones on the way up and the temperature can range 25 degrees -- dress accordingly.

i did this and it took a little bit to get up. it is hard as crap!!! but going down i went the fastest i have ever been on a bike. 59 mph top speed 47 mph average on the downhill. It was awesome!!!

we have a 16 mile climb here in southern new mexico that looks something like this:

OMG dude, that's insane lol...

I'm trying to stay on the big ring as much as I can, but it's way harder! I was on the 46 on my cross about 90% of the time unless there was a steep hill...

Damn dude, your small ring was my big ring lol.. Well we'll see how I adjust. I've only started roading this year, and got back into riding (MTB) in general, about 3 yrs ago..
