Right basically, don't weld that bracket straight to the unibody because its not strong enough. Either plate the unibody a little bit or add a pieces on to that bracket so u can bolt it. (What I would do so removable). But plating the unibody in this area would be easy enough. What welder are u gonna use for it all

Ok guys I need some help. So I have this 8.8 and i want to install it soon, but I don't know what to set my pinion angle at. Right now I have the 231 with the tailcone and tcase drop kit. I plan on doing an SYE later on. So, should I set the angle for the SYE even though I don't yet have it?

SYEs aren't nearly as important for XJs as they are for TJs because our driveshaft is 3-4 times longer. But that being said, unless you have a CV driveshaft the pinion angle is the same either way, it should match the angle of the TC.

Your pinion should point directly at the rear of the transfer case output where the u-joint connects(sorry I forget the terms). I would either wait for the SYE before you install the new axle, or make the angle as close to pointing where you think the SYE will sit. I've never heard of vibration issues because the pinion angle was off a couple degrees. And like said, we have much longer shafts than TJ's do, so there is more room for error.
