i understand you. i had 2 xjs, then 2 zjs, and now another xj. the comfort and room in the zj is soooo nice. my zj wheeled better than any of my xjs. but, in the end, i still prefer the xj. its just a more rugged suv. the lightweight makes the i6 feel torquier, and more nimble than the z. plus, i just really like the look of the '97+ with a lift. and the interiors are pretty nice in them too. the drivetrain is more reliable and easier to work on. i always had a fear of my tranny or 249 grenading in the z. my $.02.

 

Exactly... Tranny and tcase is ok in mine. I just replaced the axles front and rear but still seems like it dont have the power my xj did.. But ya it will wheel the **** out of xj's specially with the long arms and wishbone link in rear.. Leafs just dont compare.. I cant make up my mind.. This sucks lol

 

Just drop a bigger engine in there.....haha only if it was as easy as saying it!

 

My buddy has a 5.9 engine and trans from a ram 2wheel drive but its lots of work and i need alot.. If it didnt make so much suspension noise when driving i would be happier as a dd plus i put a used but new to me gear box for steering in and went to a currie setup and had nothing but trouble with that and alignment.. Seems like one thing after another with this thing... Always trying to repair or replace parts rather then upgrade lol

 

my 2nd zj had a 5.9 w 20k miles on a brand new crate engine. it was BA! but the thing still felt too heavy and sloppy for my taste. had f/r long arms, and heim steering and i hated driving that thing. the xj is just a better suv all around.

 

I think i might throw it up for 4500 with 4.0 123k miles long arms custom wishbone rear newer 33x12.5 bfg ats. Intake exhaust... Few dents here and there.. U guys think 4500 is fair?? I see thrm beat and stock for like 3500 range.. Or trade for xj i guess
