New xj is a giant pile of POO!!!!!

Started to overheat on tues. Radiator is a brand new all alum griffin. All hoses are new and its upraded to open cooling system.

Changed t-stat tues eve so I could wheel on Wed.

Was still getting warm, so I put dual elec fans in.

Started to instantly overheat on flat highway on Wed morn. on the way wheeling.

Replaced Water Pump

Started to instantly overheat on flat ground.....Everything Im doing is making it worse.

Put Water wetter in...no difference

Put head gasket sealer in....no difference.

I said screw it and drove it from I-70 and C-470 all the way to my house in littleton running at 260* trying to blow it up.....of course it didnt!!!

Fairly certain that I have a head gasket issue and with 200k on that engine, Im not about to do a head gasket. Time for a motor swap. Good thing I bough back the blue jeep!

I have 2 4.0L's to install in the next couple weeks....uuuggghhh

No, the blue jeep that got totaled a couple weeks ago....you didnt see that one. There is a pic of it on my facebook page.

I got really frustrated with my XJ yesterday, and told it Im cutting its roof off!!!!!!! No BS....Its gonna happen!!

This xj looks identical to mine, minus the chop, and rear air shocks, dove tail, ect........so it will give you a good idea of what it will look like when I am done. of course this will all be done Hudfab style!

All in all fun day !
Pingree hill, it was essentially the exit / 2nd half of Kelly Flats. I didn't look at your LCA but that's not too bad, mine were bashed way harder a while ago lol. Glad someone got a pic of my Jeep flexed on that rock, it's a good example of why I'm annoyed with my rear supsension. That's as flexed out as my Jeep will possibly get and my rear suspension just refuses to stuff anymore.... It was fun though, and quite interesting seeing a stock XJ on bald MTRs do Heartattack Hill, even if it were the easiest lines, we all essentially went the same way haha. Props to Kevin for that.It was a fun time though, hot as hell, then it cooled off and Sevenmile was pretty washed out, made for some entertaining wheeling (so glad to be surrounded by GREEEEEEEEEEEEEN, especially with the little moisture we've had) and we checked out a spur I've never done before, was pretty nice.

Also, debating following Dustin's footsteps and selling a Jeep. I like this one but I kind of want the novelty of buying a stocker and building it up. There's a few things I would like to change, but I dunno if it'd be worthwhile selling the Jeep to fund a new one's build.

Just take one of the leafs out of your rear springs to soften it up for more flex. You will prob lose a little in lift but ride and flex will be better. Flatter springs = more flex and droop

Doesn't sound like a super easy task but it can't be that bad? How much time am should I expect to removing a leaf?

Nevermind, I used google. I'll try to take a crack at it maybe tomorrow after the SYE is done

Just made up my mind on swapping the entire harness, pcm, engine, and dash from the blue 98 into my 89 2door.

I have it all sitting there, so why not? More HP and good bye Renix!?....Yes please!

Pingree Hill, though I think that was still part of Kelly Flats trail. And yeah that was a good day of wheeling and taking a stock *** XJ on bald *** MTRs up heart attack hill.
