I had my Chief for sale a little while back. I listed it with a misfire. I took compression and it showed a dip in the middle of the block, indicative of a head gasket. This was confirmed by the infamous, mysterious disappearing coolant. It really hadn't run all that poorly.
I purchased a blasted, tanked, and decked head from a guy in denver. New guides, slightly ported, and smoothed out. I replaced all of the gaskets in the upper end and added some new bosch 4-hole injectors too. New volvo coolant reservoir cap as well.
I am seeing 19mpg consistently, and entirely mixed driving. Not bad for a Renix. Runs oh-so well!
Buttoned it all up, drove it 300yrds to the gas station to fill up and realized I forgot to refill the PS fluid. Now I need a new pump... friggin' 300yrds and the pump gets worn out. Sad.
New rear main seal is next.

Mine was supposed to be tuesday and wednesday, but i got a last minute overnight 12 hour shift last night. so 6 hours of each of my days off, no sleep before that, slept til 3 this afternoon. my scheduling manager is a douche.

What I paid for them last week....All 5 with Rubicon wheels and 350ish miles on them, $800...They are metric size but measure 30.9 inches
Not a single scuff or scratch on the rubi wheels. I could prob get $5-600 for the wheels alone, but I will pass on the deal I got.
