Picked it up Saturday morning and risked riding around no tags, license, etc. saturday getting it back to the Fort. If you have any tips or just wanna talk bikes Alex, hit me up, I'm very green here but excited and wanting / willing to learn. I'm wrapped up in the start of my studying for finals so it's not too distracting not being able to ride. I'll definitely ride as safe as I can to stay alive and get miles under my belt, open to any and all tips / discussion.
Good deal. I just wanted to offer some friendly advice bro.

I lost a very good friend 8 years ago. Good rider, but he took off his lid to go a few blocks and got into a car accident.

I cringe when I see guys riding w/no lid, or even seen some dudes in shorts and flip flops. WTF. But riding is a ton of fun. You will enjoy it, especially the MPG. Just have to always be on the defensive. And you can always tell who the newbies are, cuz they are riding w/out protection. I had some close calls, but never laid my bike. Lot's of tickets tho haha.. I can't imagine the temptation you are going through to jump on that sled.

Yeah, i think he's talking about my grand cherokee..

4:56 and 35s was no problem, with a 5.9 crate engine.

I don't really miss it though.. Hopefully soon, I can put the xj together.

Condolences about your friend. I'm very very aware of the risks I'm taking (though I'm sure the class will reveal some other scary stuff to have on my mind lol) but I've also spent a lot of time talking to friends who ride and reading online and what not trying to get an idea of what I'm getting into. Seems like the biggest thing is to just watch everyone else. I'm confident in my ability to ride and not hit someone or cause an accident, but I'm scared to death of getting hit by someone else.... My buddy out in Cali got hit on the freeway and the person fled and never got caught.... He has no memory of it, just remembers riding to work and then waking up in the hospital.... People stopped to help but he's been healing and recovering for months... He's alive though, and itching to get back on the bike lol. Every time I've ever ridden a bike, even my friend's bikes, I wear at least a helmet. I'll ALWAYS have a helmet with me if I'm riding at the very least, but like I said, I wanna get some new gloves and a jacket too.

Hey Bish, when you take the test can you post up how it went por favor? I'm planning on getting my license this summer, however I'll be riding my beater old Honda.

Yeah, I'm not going to the DMV though and just taking the test. I'm taking the MSF beginner rider course which, in Colorado, will count as successful completion of everything the DMV needs (written and riding test) to get my license. So as long as I pass the class, I just take the little waiver I'm given, take it to the DMV and get the new license with the "m." Is that what you mean? Or were you talking about just going and taking the test at the DMV
