It can give you better steering control during articulation.

It has better geometry in general(no tie rod roll or crossover binding, no dead spots).

Can accommodate for higher lifts without need for drop pitman arms.

Of course your trac/panhard bar would also need to be relocated in parallel with the draglink...

I never have understood what the draglink is

It's basically the linkage that comes off the pitman arm.

What? Doesn't the trac bar stay where its at???? You can make new mounts and move it up but installing crossover doesn't mean moving the trac bar. .

Chaoscase 05-14-2012 06:28 PM

You will need an adjustable track bar.
I recommend upgrading the mounts too.

What crossover setup are you looking to go with?

It could. Mine is staying right where it's at, unless the bumpsteer is crazy.
It really depends on the lift and crossover steering setup you decide to go with. If you went with a conventional crossover under the knuckle setup your trac bar can stay if it's parallel to the draglink. If you are doing a crossover setup running OTK chances are you will have bumpsteer and need to relocate the trac bar in line with draglink.
I will be trying OTK and leaving trac bar in place, we'll see what happens.

also to gauge interest: I have a rear bumper/swing gate from the guy that sells them here locally on craigs list for $400

his finsh was crap (I redid my front from him) I had this modified to include a jerry can carrier, and cb antena mount. will fit a 33" spare. needs to have finish stripped, new welds ground, and refinished. was going to ask $375 after I had done all this, but if someone is interested in doing the work themselves, I will sell for $275 (includes jerry can)

it will take you a couple hours of grinding and at least 2 sanding discs, and then about $50 of bedliner or $80 powder coat to finish it!

lmk, I plan on starting the project this weekend pics available upon request Sean 602-8zero9-18three7
