Default 42 iroks or 44 tsl

42 iroks or 44 tsl ... i'm noticing good deals on both tires in used good-like new condition ...the iroks will be 17 rims the tsl 15 ...what's the opinion on the 2 ...i'll cut to fit and for the 44's extend wb in rear as needed ,so fitment is not main concern ,but 42 iroks will fit with easy mods the 44 tsl will require removing more xj due to width , but xj will grow no taller maybe drop 2 inches getting rid of the 2 inch spacer .

Might as well go with the 44s because people always wish they went with the bigger tire after they buy the smaller size.

looking for what should be the best performer ... if grooved 44tsl work as well as iroks then i'd rather have the extra 1 inch of axle clearance ...if i can't sell the boggers i'll run them until fall and buy brand new...maybe tsl sx in 43 .

They'll be on bead locks ...i don't have bead locks now b/c 18 wide boggers on 10 wide rims don't come off the bead even below 5psi . a friend of mine just got 42 iroks and did 16.5's no bead locks ,which he does not beleive he needs bead locks for 16'5's .

I'm wanting better rock tires for the challenge issued to me by phone today by Chinakee I'm not going to do anything to my XJ other than better rock tires the cgae and tweaking for longer shocks and tire fitment ...He has 42's and double tri linked front and is lifting it 4+ inches and stretching it ...who knows how much...lol , so it's a friendly challenge and I just wants the better tires for it , and see how I do against him and what will be one huge XJ this summer ...I hope he gets over the body damage thing b/c I'll be caged and on a trailer ,and treating the XJ like it was a disposable bic for the win...lol

agreed.. my LTBs sucked on the street.. felt like the flinstones on cold mornings, and when there was any ice and snow, i'd put it in 4hi just to be safe.
