revisited. 2000 xj came with a 210° f t-stat from the factory. I'm the 3rd owner, but know it was originally sold in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The 2nd owner, and I both live in the same area. Is it common practice to install a higher temperature t-stat for colder regions, and/or vise versa for hotter regions? It gets -20° to -40° regularly in the Winter, and it stays pretty chilly inside the jeep AFTER I installed a 195° f t-stat when the original 210° f went bad. Just wondering, and tired of shivering! Oh yeah! I burped the system well, and the jeep hasn't had a problem getting hot/overheating. In case anyone is wondering.

The temperature control door inside the heater box had come loose. So, it wasn't closing all the way when asking for heat, hence the " never getting hot enough " problem. Took the entire assembly out, readjusted the door to it's proper " seat ", and screwed it all back together. Put it all back, tested, and it works perfectly. Haven't shivered this winter, yet, and it's been below 0° quite a bit.
