We picked up another 6+ inches at my work... And it's in the 20's. Haha, thinking more about skiing than wheeling at the momment.

yeah, the trail would likely be rather difficult or impossible depending on how well this stick tonight and tomorrow. IMO likely would just not happen with the way its raining in the bay area right now, there is definitely more on the way up there. Unfortunately this for sure means that the trail is f'd, probably for at least a week unless the day time temps get into the 70s and stay above freezing overnight. What does anyone think? Im all for still heading up and driving ice house or something for snow wheeling, but I think we will need some roads at tall elevation to really get good snow. Any suggestions?

I've got tons of mild trails around donner that will be quite interesting with the snow that's on them. There's also a bear valley trail outside of truckee that's suppose to be moderatly difficult. I'm not driving to far for any wheeling when the trails nearby should be plenty fun, and beautiful!

im in for sure, I love snow wheeling. Ive got pretty limited experience with it so getting more would be awesome. Plus with the fresh snow the views will be amazing. So what do you suggest? I can get to Tahoe by about 11 on Saturday morning assuming no dummies crash or silly caltrans having chains for 0" of snow. Anyway, is there a good place to camp/stay in the area?

Yea Gentlemen getting there would be a long trip for not much reward. I think I am out for this trip but Hollister Hills in the winter does sound intriguing as I have never been.

I think Lisa and I will just do a local run, have a picnic and enjoy some sun shine too.

What's everyones cell #? Maybe we would seem fit to meet for a short snow run. Skidder, if you have a couple trails you want to run in the snow, maybe enough for two days worth or like 11-6 or 7 I'm still in. Let me know, my # is 707-477-5199. I've had this trip scheduled for a month and don't really plan to let a little snow stop me.

FYI the highways are OPEN for business about 12 today. They are not closed for the season at this point because its too early, so that junk is plowed and will be good to go today and tomorrow. Anybody back in or no?

Cool

Well boys Lisa and I and a friend from the valley are doing Deer Lake trail near the Sierra Butts. We will be at the trail head at high noon. Not a hard trail but great scenery. Its the same trail head that we started at last time Skidder.

We need to get together and run some when the white stuff starts to fall for real this winter. I have not done a lot of snow wheeling.

Put up pictures of your days run when you get home so I can see what you two did. I will do the sme.

Skipper we got some good snowy trails, in parts it took several sideways full throttle attempts... good times. We completed all the trails we started though!

I have a few pictures but I'm currently without internet so they probably wont be up for awhile... I'm definitely down for a snow run in the next month or whenever the next storm hits.

I need to find whats clunking in my front end now, I think maybe I toasted a u-joint from all the wheel spinning... haven't really gone checking yet but that just seems fitting from what we were doing.

Hey guys, you had the better runs I am sure. Got snowed out of going to Deer Lake mostly because my friends Toy could not make it so we went to try Poker Flatt run a moderate trail but ran out of time.

Here are some pictures:

Snow, snow everywhere
