Anyone here ever dropped the oil pan on the 4.0L? The person who owned mine before me managed to strip out the oil pan plug. I don't have a lot of time so I have been calling around to see what a shop would charge to do it and the cheapest I've found is $500. Forget that, I'm more than capable, having rebuilt everything from 1.0ci RC airplane 2 and 4 stroke engines to the engine in my wife's Neon, but I won't have a lot of time and this obviously has to be fixed ASAP. I have not, however, ever done any work to a suspension.
Anyway, can anyone here who has done the work give me an idea of what to expect? I know I gotta drop the front axle. I haven't done that before. Do I need to support the axle before I unbolt it?
Thanks!
