Default Sacramento- I just want to drive on some dirt!

I'm looking for some simple dirt trails near Sacramento, Ca. Don't need anything fancy or difficult, just want to get my XJ on something other than pavement. I live pretty close to Folsom Lake but I'm unsure if there is anything over there. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

You can take your Jeep out to Folsom Lake and drive around back to Oak Point beach access (from the Granite Bay gate at the end of Douglas Blvd) where there is beach access and an assortment of different obstacles or simple trails.
I'm out there twice a day most days while work is still slow.
If you see a big dumb looking country boy in a dark slate pearl 98 ZJ or a red Wrangler JK and a yellow lab hit me up. I also know of some other places that are slightly longer drives but worth it though I require trust before I reveal those.
Try also Ruck-A-Chucky. It might be open for the summer now. It's a dirt road down the middle fork gorge of the American River off of Foresthill Rd and there are parking and picnic spots right on the river. Great day trip.
If you just want to get on some dirt for a while then you can try hitting up Prarie City but if you aren't set up for serious obstacles that could get boring pretty quick even though there are a couple/few miles of easy dirt and moderate obstacles.
I'm going to the Hilanders meeting in Orangevale for the first time looking to join. Check out their website and maybe I'll see you there.
