Are you looking for an actual offroad club, or a "let's meet at Hooters" type club?

Do as you wish, but in my personal experience any Hooters on a Saturday night deal is bland and boring and any real "club" is almost like a job with mandatory meetings and dues.
My Jeep is just about ready for some fun time so I plan on just tagging along next time someone hits some local noob-friendly trails. Check other threads here, lots of "hey I'm going to ______ this weekend, anyone want to go?".
I may be hitting Wildomar OHV park solo, looks like decent training ground. I'll let you know, if you feel like making the drive.

thanks!! I do need new tires (mine are
Bald and old) and I need some work on the control arms and since it gets so hot in LA I'm going to see if i can make my engine run a little cooler by 10 degrees so I don't have to worry about running too hot from off roading

I'm also in LA. I usually hit the trails/play in the dirt in Johnson & Lucerne Valleys. I also like to check out the M.O.R.E. & JeepSpeed Races out there. http://moreracing.net/

Hit me up if you ever want to talk Jeep
Cheers!
Steve

Awesome! Do you have a picture of your jeep so I know it's you if I ever drive by you one day?

You're about an hours drive from me. Have you ever gone camping up near mojave at red rock? Loads of trails there, not to mention the amazing Jawbone Canyon! It's a 2 hour drive from LA but I'd be down to do another wheelin/camping trip up there within the next few months. Heading to sequoia park in June for Father's Day for camping.

I'll check it out! And jawbone is this insane of road park very popular with MX and ATV riders because of the super steep hill climb trails all along the main road (well paved for the first 9ish miles and then it becomes dirt for who knows how much farther but you eventually get to a point on the dirt part of the main road where there is an dirt trail that crosses the main road and I went on that for about 15 minutes and it had fun mounds to go over (you cold jump your jeep if you know it won't break) and steep embankments on the turns to make it feel like a super slow dirt nascar track it is off road haven and I bet I haven't even seen .001% of it yet!

was that the 176 trail? very easy trail i first took it on my stock 98 Z71, which turned out to be a gate way drug to getting my jeep.

I have not gone yet, but if you wheel into dove springs i think there is a cabin everyone like to go to and also burosmit mine is a cool stopping point. you could also continue on up to the Piutes.

I'm not sure about the numbers. I used a paper map but didn't memorize trail numbers. And That's actually my plan in a way. Do you have pictures of this cabin though? Sounds cool!
