Some time in the near future I'd like to rebuild my engine. i know I'm having compression issues, and its got almost 250k miles on it. i just bought it two weeks ago so i haven't a clue of how hard it was run during its life. also i had planned on doing this any ways
so...
my questions follow: how much roughly is it gonna cost to get it rebuilt and can any one recommend a good mechanic in the inland empire who knows what they are doing and won't screw me over. preferably in the riverside/moreno valley/redlands area

honestly i haven't had time to look. and i was wrong, my jeeps running strong. the fuel pump was going out. infact it died on me the other day on the 91. also my track bar is shot
i can recommend the guy that did alot of work to stalkers jeep. Mels an awesome mechanic. we call him melguiver, lol. he might be a little busy though. A guy hired him to completely rebuild an original 68 ss chevelle
the only other person i can recommend with confidence is my mechanic sal from primos in riverside. sals shop is off of indiana and arlington. sals where i go for all the stuff i have no clue how to fix. hes honest and a good mechanic
heres sal's number: 951-786-3725

There's an ad in the recycler for House of engines the ad says 1300 rebuilt and installed for the 4.0L up to 96, which I believe is the last year for the regular distributor. I got the goofy coil packs
