I'm in Browns Valley off Highway 20. I'm up for any wheeling when the cherokee likes to work and I have gas money at the same time.

I am in Chico, not far from you. Found about a little known trail here that is supposed to be pretty good called The Murphy Trail. Maybe after Murphy's Law, I don't know. But it is supposed to be a long day anyway. I will be checking it out for a summer run. We also have the High Lakes nearby, challenging and popular as well as the Grapevine Jeep Trail.

Vaguely remember hearing about grapevine but thats it. i just know grass valley trails since that where i used to live and never really had a lot of gas money to go more than 30min away.

There are several on maps such as the Lower and Upper Grapevine Jeep Trail and Ishi Road in the South east Lassen Nat. For. There is another one I will look for not on any maps called Murphy Road. Between Cohasset Rd and HWY 32

You can get twisted up in Ishi Rd. Here is one pic, not a good one but I was stopped and had to stretch cable.

random question. how well do your fans hold up in the weather? great idea but how is it? and for that matter is your jeep carb legal? I'm gonna eventually put the dakota 5spd 4x4 setup in my 89 so i was wondering how hard it is smogging.

Yes, CARB legal headers and all. If you put anything in, it has to be the same year or newer. Don't put in anything OBDII because you will have to use the gas tank that came with the Dakota and in some cases the front bumpers etc that came with the Dakota. So you are looking at pre 96. They made me put in the tranny that came with the S10 also. You have to have all sensors, original ECM, an exhaust that looks almost like the original, cat etc to go with it. You will get a sticker from the referee that says this vehicle is now whatever you used for an ECM. In my case it is a 94 S10. Any further mods like headers have to have a CARB sticker on them.

The coolers work great. They are thermostatically controlled and work so well that the fans rarely ever have to come on.
