Yeah on the sides a bit. I have good side mirrors. My work van has no back window and it's a hell of a lot bigger and harder to drive. I've gotten used to it. It felt weird at first but once you start learning your mirrors it's no big deal.

Gotcha, I DD mine, and my rig is a registered highway vehicle so id like to see as much as possible from the rear. Its tough finding a tire carrier bumper for cheap though, by cheap I mean under 600.

Yeah. I thought of doing something adjustable. Keep it low on the road and high in the rocks. But I picked this up for 400 and it was hard to pass up.

The whole kaboodle for 400? For that price I wouldn't mind haha. I like the look and price of FST's carrier bumper, but I need to convince my dad that the rear cut and fold is a neccessary mod first.

It's not really necessary. The bumper I have protects it. I'll be able to stuff 37s (tight fit) without the cut and fold. My 35s tuck into the fender well as it is.
Yeah I picked up the whole thing for 400. It was already painted too. It really was a great deal.
I really liked protofab4x4 bumper and its pretty reasonable. http://www.protofab4x4.com/products.php?ID=00&ID2=32
But now having the departure angle I have, I would never go back. It's so much easier dropping off obstacles and waterfalls.

Check out rigid I too. He has tons of option stuff that come standard. Stainless latches and stuff like that. It is a very strong bumper. Cut and fold or not. Tire location is moveable and he makes tons of accessories. Get the phone number off the site and call. The owner is the builder. Super nice guy and he will email you a price list with all the options.

Yeah it's pretty bad. His son did it for him and then went off to school a few years back so it has not been maintained at all. But he will do a lot of alterations per your request. Do a google search for rigidco tire carrier and you find a bit more pics of the different options out there.
