So, check this out guys. Chris, my son, came by the house tonight after he got off work and checked out my hatch. He seems to think he can repair it. I'm getting some resin hardener and fiberglass sheets tomorrow. That will be pretty sweet if this repair works. I really don't want to have to do all the mods I've done to my hatch, to another hatch. Plus I know my hatch fits and works on my Jeep. I have a sinking feeling that if I took a good hatch off of another Jeep and put it on mine, that it probably would fit and close right...LOL.

i dont see why not, my buddy in San Diego chipped like a 6inch chunk off his fiberglass hood from his camaro, and the fiberglass guys were able to fix it in a jiffy. looked great after paint!

I'm kinds hopin so. If I have to replace my hatch that will be the first major piece of my Jeep that has been "replaced" since owning it. I've always been able to fix whatever has broken on it before. This looks like an opportunity for me to learn a little bit about fiberglass repair, too. See, there is a bright side to everything.
