The front one sucks just a little bit more cause you have to pull the front hubs apart. I also had that stupid 2 piece axle and front disco to deal with on mine.

ya it is a pain but me and my dad double teamed it. he took one side and i took the other and we got it tore apart pretty quick just to find out that we couldnt get the carrier out.

If I remember correctly, when I took my front D30 apart the first time to do my gears, it was a B**** to get the carrier out. I think I resorted to the pry bar and BFH.

Just be careful of when she let's loose that you don't bend your tierod, if you didn't already take it off. I'm lazy, I never took mine off.

ya we couldnt get the pin out cuz the ring gear was blocking it and we tried to pry the carrier out and it wouldnt budge for nothing. but my buddy has a case spreader so as soon as i can borrow it i am putting the locker in.

Darn the bad luck. They claim you can get the pinion shaft out past a stock (thinner) ring gear. Both Aussies and both Lock Rites I've done were after re-gearing so I had to pull the carriers out all 4 times.
