finilly did my diff. cover in the front end but just before had to replace the heater hose broke one the way to due the cover. but did get a fan cover and new wheels there today well put them on when its not 90 outside
Found my oil leaks using dye and a black light:
Dyes RULE for finding leaks. Dump 2 bottles in the oil spout, run the engine for about 5 minutes, then use a black light to find the leaks. All your leaks will show a fluorescent greenish color. (The dye is fluorescent orange but when it mixes with the oil it turns greenish). I found four leaks yesterday. My leaks are: rear of oil pan, oil filter adapter, rear of valve cover, and oil sending unit (all famous 4.0L leaks).
The dye doesn't impact the utility of any fluid. Can be used in oil, tranny fluid, power steering, etc.
You can get the dye and black light on Amazon.

Nice diff cover Tim. Haven't seen one done like that before.
Over the weekend I replaced the rear heim joints and some of the bushings on my control arms. They were getting loose and I was just starting to get a little death wobble from it. I was thinking they were gonna be like $40-$50 each. I went to Billy Bob's to find new ones and they said my control arms (custom done by PO) used tractor joints. I was worried they would be hard to find but Sumner Tractor had several in stock and the best part is they were only $11 each
.
After replacing the heim joints I discovered had to re-tighten my track bar bracket for the 100th time.
Lastly I was (hopefully) finally able to resolve my oil leak issues. I had been leaking oil since I bought the jeep. I replaced the oil pan gasket (bad install by PO), rear main seal, oil filter adapter seals, valve cover gasket, and all PCV gaskets. Still leaking from top of valve cover. So after some research I replaced the PCV vacum line on the back of the valve cover with 1/4" ID heater hose which gave me much better suction on that line. I also found a different PCV elbow for the front of the valve cover that fit much tighter. Finally, just in-case there was still blowby getting to the air filter, I installed a filter on that line. I drove around for a while, did some wheeling, and went up and down the Bonney Lake hill a couple times and saw no new oil on the valve cover. Today I will be de-greasing the engine and hopefully wont see any oil leaking from the engine afterwards.

Well, I just bought I 94 Cherokee a few days ago and so far I have repainted the rear passenger panel (which was ****ed up with a ****ty gray primer job when I bought it). Ive retrimmed the fenders since whoever did it the last time made the ****tiests cuts ive ever seen and then just folded the excess metal over. Ive Herculined the rocker panels and put some new at 31s on. I also had to rethread the motor mount bracket holes on the engine block because the helicoils that were in there before were done real crappy as well and the bolts popped off. That job was a***** and took the entire day yesterday from 8am to 11pm. But the jeep is coming along!!

I didnt know the rears where supposed to be tucked. But both the front and rear had been trimmed and folded and either way it was still crappy looking so I just recut all 4 again and smoothed it down and touched up the paint b/c the last ppl that had done it tore a bunch of paint off and rust was forming.

Well since I just bought mine last night, the only thing I've done to it is try to make it start and charge the battery on it and do an oil change.
Not much but its a start.

I tracked the leaking anti freeze to the water pump (I was getting worried that I had a busted head gasket cause the leak was draining in the back of the engine). I got to work and found the steady pour out from the left side of the pump and breathed a big sigh of relief. Now tonight I will attempt my first solo repair of a part. Pray for me guys!
