Frame stiffners, 4.88, RC drop brackets and the 35's. I'll have to wait till next year for a front locker, and axle shafts. So I guess I will be taking it kinda easy.

Bobby, What did the Rough Country Drop Brackets cost you? That is the route I am considering to fit 35s on my Jeep.

It was around 200 shipped, I gotta replace the bushings in my lower control arms. Kinda hoping that the rusty's arms will still work. I'll let you know how easy it is to put in later.

I pulled a Newbie move last night. So, my Jeep has really been sucking the gas since I put the solid long side axle shaft in it. The entire front drivetrain spins all the time, now. I came up with the bright idea of pulling my front axle shafts out in effect making my Jeep a 2WD for daily driving between wheeling trips. Well, some of you Veterans probably know what happened next. I will spell it out for the rest of you....and OBTW, I do have a picture. I will post it tonight after work. So I got as far as backing out of the garage and immediately driving just far enough forward to get out of the road and back into my driveway...The driver's side front wheel was hanging by a small piece of bearing cage and the passenger side front wheel was about half torn off. I'm here to tell you guys, Your front wheel bearing/hub assembly most definitely does not support the weight of your jeep. The axle shaft does. What basically happened was as I started forward motion the wheel bearing/hub assemblies split apart and exploded bearing pieces everywhere. Only the inner part is bolted to the knuckle and the rest is just pressed together. The large nut on the end of your axle shaft is what really holds everything together. So, don't cheat on that 170 ft. lbs. that nut is supposed to torqued to. Go ahead and let the flaming begin. I'll have the pic on later.

what happend i dont know. still trying to fix it, or atleast figure out how it happend. all i know is that the fuses are still good. so like i sed still working on it.

Pics of my Wheel bearing/Hub assembly fiasco as promised. The first one shows what happened when I tried to drive my XJ with just wheel bearing assemblies and no axle shafts. The second picture is a pile of what is left of my brand new wheel bearing/hub assemblies.

Today I spent all night shopping for my lift kit and tires. Thought I had a nice set of tires but the guy sold them before I could get the money together. Then I went to the auto parts store to buy the tranny fluid and differential oil and jack stands because I have come to the decision to no longer pay for routine maitance. Tommorow Im flushing the coolant, and chaging the tranny fluid (which is black btw) and differential oils. I got my 99 a little while ago used and think I might be the first person to change the tranny fluid in over 100000 miles. Im nervous...but im gonna do this! Lift kit and tires next week

Well Brian it was worth a shot right, maybe you should try to justt pull out the aussie next. But good thing it only happened in the drive way.
Now to the crap I went through today. I drop off my rig at firestone and unload my tires. This is at 0900, I don't here back from them so at 1 I went up to check on the process. Well apparently a 12.50 will not fit on a 8" rim, but they can get me some cheap STOCK Jeep rims that they will fit on. So I say no thank you and load up the heavy *** tires again. Then I call Les Schwab and make sure that they can install my tires and they say they put 12.50 's on 8" rims all the time. An hour later they call and say the tires won't fit on my rig, that they will rub. He raised his voice and said you "can't put 35's on a cherokee." And that I would kill someone when my tire shreds. So I did it on post at the auto center myself. Best part is it was only a fifth of the price, and only 2 hours of my time compared to the entire day I wasted. Oh and they are sweet.
