Default Walker Valley Run Saturday, 31 March 2012

My Cheap Super 30 front axle is all done and installed in my Jeep. My Jeep is already to go wheeling, finally. I will be heading back home from Vegas on Thursday, 29 March. I am doing a 4Wheeling run to Walker Valley Saturday, 31 March.

8:00 A.M. I will be at the Denny's restaurant off of College Way in Mt. Vernon, Wa. You can see this restaurant from I-5 at exit 227. Meet me there and then if you want some hot chow and/or you don't know your way out to Walker Valley.

9:00 A.M. I will be at "The Pit" the main parking area in the Walker Valley OHV area airing down and locking in if you'd rather meet up with me there.

This Walker Valley run is going to be a little different than mine have always been in the past. This time the weather is looking to be really $hitty. Very wet and muddy and possibly even snow...maybe deep snow on the top. This time I am setting minimums:

1.) One locker...preferably two.
2.) 33 inch tires....preferably bigger.
3.) Front and rear tow points....preferably your own winch.

Something I feel I need to re-address are the minimum requirements for my Walker Run. Walker is a public OHV area open to anybody who wants to go there. However, The guys who wheel "with me" will meet my minmum requirements or they will not run with me. They are the following:

1.) 1 locking differential...preferably 2.

2.) 33 inch tires or bigger. Bigger tires and a heavy right foot DONNOT compensate for no lockers.

3.) FRONT and REAR safe to use, tow points on your Jeep...preferably you have your own WORKING winch. Wrapping a tow strap around your front or rear axle does not pass for safe to use tow points.

Thats two pages on this thread I have spelled out the minimums on now. I have spent too many wheeling trips in Walker trying all day to get through one trail because guys thought they were good to go to hang with properly outfitted Jeeps. Thats not happening this time. I plan to run every trail in Walker in about 4-6 hours. I know I can do it because I have done it several times alone in my Jeep. That said, I can't keep anybody from showing up and running Walker but, guys who are open, not lifted, with bald all season radial tires and no tow points, WILL NOT run with me!!

I'm not going to split hairs between a locker and a posi. If you want to come along, then show up. Just make sure that fancy Warn winch on your Jeep in all those pics is working, too....LOL.
