Hill folks just bought a xj (350.00) and it's rough little rust and a couple of dings but the power train is in good condition new rear drive line and I think a good used different.
However I'm a newbie about ecm, tcut and all the electronics that goes with it, some of the post I've read are fantastic mechanics they go over my head sometimes. Here's one for you, the rear diff. looks to be used Dana 35 w
