my son has a 91 with a vac assit axel(?). we put a posi-loc in it and that helped but not perfect. what vehicle can i get a solid axel dana 30 or better to replace it with. also does the vac lines to the transfercase work anything else or can we just block them off?

 

you can go to pull a part and just get a d30 non disconect for 86.50 and bolt it in.

 

this ^ go find a cherokee without the vacuum disconnect

 

are there any specific years to look for with out the disconnect?

 

91 on up with the 242 transfercase or just look for one that doesn`t have the vac unit on the axle tube.

Its doesn't matter if it has the 242 or the 231. In fact it will be harder to find an XJ with the 242 than the 231 t-case. The 242 has full-time 4wheel that you can drive on the pavement and it only came in select models.
