You gotta try to trim as much as you can. That Jeep is too pretty to just let the tires rip up the body.

well its trim'd alittle. its only when I turn whiling flexing it hurts it. or at full flex. but I'm prolly going to keep my swar bar on because I don't have disconnects which I want

Seattlecrwlr, what is the issue with your new motor. Tell me what it's doing besides not running...I.E.
1.) Do you have spark at your plugs?
2.) Do you have good fuel pressure to your fuel rail?
3.) Have you read out the CPS to verify it's good?
4.) Have you verifed your Can Position Sensor good?
5.) Have you verified your IAC valve good?
6.) Have you verified your TPS good?

Well i figured out most of my problems. the old ground(starter, coil, starter relay) welded itself to the bolt so i had to cut it and completely forgot all about it.. so i got it turning over today now i have timing issues(which i was never good at) I was really hoping that I would luck out and get it on the first try. no luck
. so I am going to work on it all night tomorrow trying to get it, if not i am going to bite the bullet and ask for professional help(for me and the heep). If I want to get out i might just have to pay someone to set the timing for me as I am doing it all by ear cause i dont have a light or nothin!!!! but IT TURNS OVER YEAH!!!!!!!small things really do amuse small minds

Seattlecrtwlr, what year is your XJ?? The timing is all done by the ECU. There is no manual adjustment on any 4.0, 87' and newer. If you have your cam, crank and timing gears installed right...and your Crank Position Sensor, Cam position sensor, coil and ignition module are all good, it should fire right up.

WAY COOL BOBBY. I hope you can make it. Nothing will stop me htis time. My house will be HEN central all weekend.

there has to be some way to screw it up, out teeth, upside down. there has to be a way, if not i think i created one!!!!!

I'm sure you have the the timing gears aligned wrong. Off by a tooth or something.

Tyrhine, you'll have to disconnect you SB links otherwise you'll end up bending your SB. I'm sure your trimming will do the trick.

just pick away at it tomorrow. we shall see what comes of it. prolly nothing, but I am goiing yo give it a shot. if not i have a crane to toss it in the river haha not kidding!!!ok im kidding

Seattlecrwlr, if you can't get that stroker motor running, before you chuck it in the river, give me a call. I will haul it off for you. I'll even let you keep the new head. I'd just snag the short block from you...hehehe.

funny buck, I have had quite the offers to take it off my hands, tried to figure it out again today with no luck. I am starting to think the fireing order is wrong. I have tried dist. in every position possible and nothing. sputters for a sec then dies. do you need back pressure to run? have no exhaust at the moment, just open header. well try again tomorrow!!

Did you re-verify your timing marks on the cam and crank gears were in the right spot? Did you put an aftermarket (bigger) cam in this motor by any chance? If you did, you may need to get a hold of the manufacturer and ask them about setting up the timing gears with their product.

I finished up the trimming on my rear wheel wells last night. It looks good and I think my tires will clear the body even at full stuff without building rear extended bump stops. I'm going to install the front 1.75 inch extended bump stops I just received in the mail, tonight.

This Reiter run is going to be a blast. Weatherman says high 70s through the weekend.
Would be a good chance to run with the doors off but, I haven't addressed this issue yet. I hear there is hinge grinding involved and I would need to make quick discos for my door speaker wiring and I need to fab up something for my side mirrors. Maybe I'll tackle that project in time for the next 4x4 run.
