No, Evans Creek will not be closing any time soon. As I said in my previous post I got the following information from the USFS "We are not locking gates or restrooms that are currently open because of the potential shutdown." Evans Creek does have a seasonal closure from December 15th - March 31st and that should be the only time that Evans Creek is closed. During the rainy season the USFS may decide to close individual trails to prevent overuse when the trails are very wet and soft, but that will only affect specific trails and not the whole park.

The Naches is a very different story. The Naches and Cle Elum Ranger districts have officially decided to close all trails until June 15th. This closure comes from input they got from the 4x4 groups who do the maintenance work on the trails. They will be opening some trails earlier as the snow melts and they are able to remove downed trees fix any bad spots and make sure the trails are ready to go. By June 15th all the trails will be open no matter how much snow is left. This closure affects the Liberty, Naches, and Manastach areas (no moonrocks/funny rocks Memorial weekend).
