Good people or shop to weld frame crack
Hi everyone I have been building my Xj for about a year now and finally went to Evans Creek over the holiday I had a blast BUT I made an existing frame crack now BIG.
When I bought the Jeep the crack looked like a glob of undercoating the factory didn't clean up it was actually some one hiding the real crack in the frame next to the steering box, now the crack pops and twists. I need to know (and I already searched this site for answers but found nothing, not to say its not there I just didn't find it) any way I need to know what to do and who does a good job of it... welding, plates, brackets, rods what ever gets done to fix this problem.
Here is my build i just posted last night, and now the next day I have a fix question.... Jeeps are great LOL =)

you are gonna have to have it plated and sleeved for the steering box bolts.
there is an old thread on that topic https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/st...e-rail-119736/
however, it doesn't get into too much detail...

Auburn car repair and offroad is a great place. They're always doing jeep stuff.
If you have the time though, try to take on the challenge yourself. That's what I did and Im glad I did. It was such a good learning experience. I put mine into a tree up at Tahuya and crunched the front of the frame on drivers side in a good 4 inches. all plated up and straightened now.
Check out the before and after pic.

If I weld it myself how do I keep the frame geometry and alignment perfect? Or if the frame is a little bit off can that be adjusted out with an alignment?
